Maintenance and Care

Just like a new car your windows and doors will need a small amount of maintenance although nothing major should go wrong. In the event that you are not happy with the performance of your windows and doors please do not hesitate to contact our staff and we will endeavour to help you rectify any issues you have. Most major problems can be avoided by some light maintenance and care. Cleaning your PVC with a damp cloth or soap and water solution is recommended, heavy abrasives and solvent based liquids are not recommended. Also oiling hinges, locks with something like WD-40 should be done every 6 months.

Condensation

In general climate conditions water vapour is continually present in the atmosphere. In the home this is natural water content, increased by normal living activities that create steam, e.g. bathing, washing, boiling a kettle etc. plus breathing. Due to the increased pursuit of energy conversation the home has become more adequately sealed i.e. draft excluders, better fitting windows and central heating have all cut down on natural ventilations through the home which will increase the level of condensation on cold surfaces. An effective way to cut down condensation is to maintain good ventilation. If you would like more information on condensation please contact us.
